By artificially inflating the cost of electricity supplied by the ESB, the energy ‘regulator’ has facilitated so-called competition in the market.
If the ESB had been encouraged to charge a fair price for its electricity there would be no need for this sleight of hand and the consumer would be spared the trouble of switching supplier.
