MP claims signature on Libertas application forged

A BULGARIAN MP has called for an investigation into how his signature was on a document lodged by Libertas with the European Parliament seeking recognition and funding.

Mintcho Kouminev told the Irish Examiner his signature was forged and he wanted an urgent enquiry into how this happened.

The parliament withdrew recognition from the party when Mr Kouminev and an Estonian MP denied they were supporting it. This left the application short of members in two of the seven countries needed to qualify.
