Seven ways to save the taxpayer a fortune

AS a public service worker I wonder how much money could be saved if the Government was to implement the following plan?

Seven ways to save the taxpayer a fortune

1. Abolish all travelling expenses and all subsistence allowances within the HSE and the entire public health service.

2. Abolish all bonus payments within the entire public service.

3. Abolish all travelling, subsistence and domicillary allowances for all city and county councillors.

4. Abolish all travelling, subsistence and domiciliary allowances for all TDs and senators.

5. All cabinet trips for St Patrick’s Day to be cancelled.

6. All presidential trips abroad to be cancelled.

7. The consultants’ contract, which the health minister has already reneged on, to be torn up and we revert to the original Buckley contract.
