ONE morning recently I was cycling to work as I do every day.

Trying to avoid the potholes, I passed a large 4WD on the inside when a man shouted out of the car window at me: “Don’t overtake on the inside.”

I stopped, went back to the stationary car and angrily asked who he was to tell me where to cycle. I got back on my bike, went to work and forgot about the incident.
