Oireachtas has every right to put the issue to the people once again
Are Libertas, Sinn Féin and others so desperate to stop the people being consulted about Ireland’s future in Europe that they want to deprive them of rights provided by our constitution?
A democratically elected government and parliament operating under a democratically approved constitution have every right to put any question to the people that they deem appropriate. The people gave Oireachtas members this power so they could exercise it in what they, the elected representatives of the people, considered the best public interest.
