Education rules broken for asylum seekers

LIKE all ministers, in the current economic crisis, Batt O’Keeffe is seeking to make budget savings.

Education rules broken for asylum seekers

Why then does he allow the attendance of adult asylum seekers at Further Education and Training Awards Council courses?

Irish asylum policy is that we give education to asylum seekers only up to age 18.

Why also does the minister allow a situation where buses are provided to bring asylum seeker students to school from within the distance limits where an Irish child will not be provided with this service?

Both of these situations are an abuse of Irish taxpayers and a further asylum ‘pull factor’.
