Protecting children - Yes, you can make time

SISTER CONSILIO FITZGERALD, founder of the Cuan Mhuire network of addiction centres, reminded us yesterday that time is the most precious commodity.

It is especially precious when it is time a parent spends with a loved child. That time was never more valuable than it is today when both parents are often obliged to take jobs outside the home. The consequences are too often exhausted parents and confused, isolated children.

This can lead to guilty parents and children left without the guidance or protection every parent would like to give their children.

It may be easier said than done but our priority must be the wellbeing of our children. If a change in lifestyle will facilitate that, then go for it.
