Making the connection

ENID O’DOWD’S letter (‘Did anyone vote to run down our health service?’, July 3) was remarkable for its honesty and clarity.

Neither of these qualities is evident in our Government.

When the Irish people voted no to the Lisbon Treaty, we were subjected to a continuous tirade of abuse, insult and invective.

Under the leadership of Mary Harney, our public health service is being strangled. The two issues are related. And the Irish people saw that and voted accordingly.
