Big government

IT seems we are again facing emigration as a result of ‘recession’.

What recession?

Where are the signs of recession in the size of Government and its superfluous administration that we maintain?

Where is the recession in RTÉ? After all, we can still maintain Miriam, Pat, Gerry and company at a cost that would frighten TV companies in the US.

This country will continue to have cyclical recessions unless and until we change the system to one that reflects our requirements. We have government on a scale suitable for populations far greater than ours.

We may be asked again to streamline the administration in Europe. I will vote yes to that if we are also asked to reduce the administration in Ireland.
