Health service fails, but no one takes the rap

AS hospital services appear to be coming under increased pressure, including our own here in Nenagh, I can only wonder about the competence of Health Minister Mary Harney and the HSE.

When mistakes occur, we are told of “systems failure”. No resignations, no sackings, no accountability.

Prof Brendan Drumm tells us the health service needs to be run by HSE managers, as opposed to doctors. Any private company that had management like the HSE would be out of business in next to no time.
