Speed limit challenge to county councillors

YOU report (February 26) that there is some question as to the legality of the 80km/h speed limit on the excellent road between Watergrasshill and Fermoy.

In July last year I was amazed to discover that the speed limit had been reduced from 100km/h to 80m/h on what has to be one of the best roads in Co Cork.

At that time I thought the limit had been imposed by the Department of Transport because of the proximity of the new toll road.
