Road rubbish

I AM a frequent visitor to the Cork region.

Road rubbish

I normally fly direct to Cork, but this time flew to Limerick and drove the rest of the way. I was astounded at the amount of rubbish on the side of the main road from Limerick to Cork. And it only got worse as I neared the city.

Do Irish people not realise that everybody nowadays profits from tourism, directly or indirectly.

I can understand rubbish on quiet roads, but the main road? Surely Cork County Council should do something about it.

Two questions: are parents educating their children to bring their litter home, and are the courts sentencing offenders to community work?
