IFA sets up a lobby for the countryside

IN his letter headlined ‘It’s time to take a stand against rural decline’ (January 31), Michael Jones raised some very important points.

IFA sets up a lobby for the countryside

In it he indicates that it is time for rural communities to become more proactive so their voice will be heard.

IFA Countryside is a newly-formed organisation dedicated to doing just that.

IFA Countryside lobbies on relevant issues such as promoting a better rural transport service, providing affordable access to broadband in all rural locations and maintaining vital services such as post offices.

The organisation is committed to being an effective voice for rural Ireland, providing better information, services, support and unbeatable offers (such as free personal accident insurance for all members) for everyone who resides, works or simply wants to enjoy the many delights on offer in rural Ireland.

As Mr Jones said, it is time the rural community stood up and my advice to him and any other people who may share his concerns would be to contact the IFA Countryside team by ringing locall 1890 924 982 or send an email to countryside@ifa.ie
