Bush stands tall

PRESIDENT BUSH’S Middle East trip rates high marks for what appears to be his sincere efforts to bring about peace between Israelis and Arabs.

I cannot remember the last time a US president went directly to this troubled region and personally urged these old adversaries to hammer out a lasting peace.

I have many disagreements with the president’s domestic and foreign policies, but he stands tall on this perilous journey because of his straightforward suggestions to both sides in this long and bloody conflict.
