Moral issue

IT was recently revealed that Tony Blair quashed an inquiry into British sales of arms to Saudi Arabia.

He did so because of the repercussions on the British economy, ie, jobs. The use to which these arms might be put was not a consideration.

Would the same rationale apply in this country to, say, arms production? Or to lethal chemicals intended for human consumption?
