A society in moral decay fails to read the signs

LOUISE CAFFREY (Letters, December 29) says it is impossible to eliminate abortions.

I do not agree.

She went on to say the pro-life lobby would be in line with the pro-choice campaign in so far as they would accept a reduced rate of abortion in principle. Ms Caffrey fails to see that while fewer abortions are welcome, no genuine supporter of the life of the unborn would approve an “acceptable level” of abortion.

Supporters of abortion are many in this once great Christian land which, like the rest of Europe, is in moral decay. It is a characteristic of any decaying society that the great mass of people are indifferent to the human tragedy of the killing of the unborn.

If there is no fixed concept of justice, how can people know when it is violated? Only those who live by faith can really recognise the signs.

The killing of the unborn comes from the dark side and it is invisible to all those who have closed their eyes to the light.
