Congressman should be security supremo

I’VE asked this before and I’ll ask it again: why isn’t New York representative Peter King heading up the office of Homeland Security?

The tireless Republican congressman is at odds with President Bush over funding for New York’s security because the White House is seeking to slash 50% of the money originally allocated.

Mr King, who is of Irish descent, is currently chairman of the Department of Homeland Security and knows what’s best for New York and the rest of the US.

Chalk up yet another blunder for President Bush and the inept Michael Chertoff, current head of the Department of Homeland Security.

The Bush administration’s policies have put Americans in a precarious situation.

We need someone who has the presidential savvy to lead the nation out of our present troubles, not the village idiot, six-shooter style of the man currently in the White House.

Even at this late date, Peter King should consider a run for president.

Presidential election day can’t come soon enough for me and millions of fed-up voters.
