Candle scandal

I BELIEVE we must make the greatest effort to save and conserve energy. This Christmas I have decided not use my outdoor lights and to replace most of my indoor lights with candles.

I will buy candles for my Austrian Christmas pyramid and for my Christmas tree. These are cheap, less than €1 for a packet of 20, and they will burn out in a few hours. Recently, to my utter disbelief, I saw these candles in a shop at the price of €8.88 per packet.

Words fail me. I have asked my friend to post them on from Germany — it will work out a lot cheaper that way.
