FEW sights can match the feelings of reverence and respect evoked by a funeral hearse.

Consider the shameful spectacle then of an undertaker having to pay a €1.70 toll for the hearse, on behalf of the grieving family, to allow their loved one passage to his final resting place. Such was the dishonourable sight witnessed last week by many shocked onlookers at the Watergrasshill toll plaza. What have we become?
