However, it is difficult to understand why of 111 offers of housing in a new, top-class urban estate only 78 were accepted.

One of the people who turned down a €400,000 four-bedroom terraced house did so because “it was too far from a bus route”. A bus stops a few hundred yards from the Cork city development and there are plans for a bus to pass the estate entrance.
