Failure a shared trait in Fianna Fáil and voters

EVEN in the ranks of Fianna Fáil there is recognition that the recent pay-rises for the boys and gals have caused serious damage with the electorate.

Meanwhile, more jobs are set to go at Shannon, hospital services are closing and Brian Cowen ‘warns’ us of a tough budget ahead.

Anyone recall the last time a Fianna Fáiler warned us to ‘tighten our belts’?

The arrogance of this Government is beyond shocking — the Green Party must be wishing it was elsewhere.

The insults that Fianna Fáil offers to the ordinary working man and woman would do Margaret Thatcher proud.

Yet, we must never forget that ‘the Irish people’, sheep-like, returned this bunch to power. What does that say about us?

The removal of a single fada from the party’s name is revealing: Fianna Fail.
