Residents to fight port move

IT was extraordinary to read your main headline that Cork docklands plans are to be lodged within weeks (September 28).

It is mentioned in the report that the biggest objection to the development was the relocation of the Port of Cork and that the company was demanding a €60m-€65m package to leave the city centre quays.

You must be aware that the Port of Cork company has not got permission to build over the oyster bank to mid-channel in the inner harbour at Ringaskiddy.
