Hot tip
The recently launched Burren Beef and Lamb Producers Group is the first ever producers group supplying quality ‘conservation grade’ beef and lamb in Ireland.
Their mission is to develop long-term relationships with ‘quality conscious’ customers via farmers’ markets, craft butchers, restaurants and retailers.
They have a code of practice which means that they will actively farm for conservation in the Burren, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the Burren for future generations.

* Recipe & Stories Appeal: Slow Food needs your help, in the cataloguing of Irish traditions. In particular, at the moment, we are seeking recipes for Boxty and Fresh Blood Puddings
Recipes which may have been handed down the generations of your family, or which you may have just ‘come across’.
However simple it may seem, all recipes have a different twist, and we would love to hear yours, please send to a.henry@ucc.ie or follow this link, www.slowfoodireland.com, to the Ark page, where you can contact us directly via the website.
* People in Need Appeal: On Friday, October 19, a Food Fair will take place in the Museum of Treasures in Waterford sponsored by Ardkeen Quality Foodstore. The idea is to support and highlight local small producers, many of whom sell their produce at the Ardkeen Store. The fair will run from 4-9pm and there will be a selection of speakers to talk on related food matters. The €20 admission will go directly to People in Need; www.martindwyer.com info@martindwyer.com.
