AFTER examining the process which routed the M3 through the Gabhra Valley, the EU was as baffled as Irish people who read the relevant routing and planning documents.

Newspapers should unearth the real story

With all the interest in Tara and the M3 debacle, it seems strange that the newspapers have not taken some time to divert from their normal duties to spare a journalist who might unravel some of the mysteries.

A democracy is created by two entities — a freely-elected Government and a free, enquiring media that keeps the population informed.

I, for one, would be grateful if any light could be shed on this decision-making process.
