Burning issue

HAVE the Dublin engineers risen to the challenge of an open debate with Daniel Hayes of University of Limerick (Letters, July 11) on the issue of the Poolbeg incinerator and alternative technologies?

Or are we, the taxpayers, supposed to sit back and watch the potential of fuel production from waste go up in smoke, all the while suffering not only detrimental effects to our health but also to our pockets with increases in bin charges and fuel prices?
