Group not asked to give abortion clinic details

YOUR report headlined ‘Funding secure despite abortion row’ (June 26) was not representative of views I expressed.

Group not asked to give abortion clinic details

I would be obliged if you would publish the following clarifications:

1. The Crisis Pregnancy Agency (CPA) did not ask Life to provide contact details for abortion clinics abroad.

2. The CPA never demanded that all crisis pregnancy agencies give out information on foreign abortion clinics. The CPA was insisting where a woman requested an abortion in the context of counselling that all crisis pregnancy agencies (irrespective of their individual ethos) would implement a referral policy to agencies that were providing contact details of foreign abortion clinics.

3. The CPA informed Life that failure to comply with this process would result in a review of funding.

4. The CPA drew up a new service level agreement without input from Life.

5. The meeting on June 15 between Life and the CPA discussed the continuing services of Life.
