Don’t bank on it

I WAS a little bemused by the Central Bank’s latest warning for wage restraint.

It evidently forgot about Bank of Ireland’s recent revelation that its chief executive earned no less than €4 million in the year to March 3, 2007 — a salary rise of 58%.

Obviously adherents of the old ‘Do as I say, not as I do’ doctrine.
