Election nightmare

I WISH to alert voters to a lamentable situation that has arisen in the Dublin University constituency for the Seanad.

I have been informed that while more than 8,000 votes have been received, almost the same number have been returned largely because the addressees were not available to sign for the registered envelope.

Anyone in this position should immediately contact the Seanad Office in Trinity at 01-8962744 to which the voting papers have been returned.

Surely this bureaucratic nightmare is capable of some intelligent solution.
