The farmer and the hillwalker should be friends

THE Mountaineering Council of Ireland (MCI) is the national representative body for hillwalking and mountaineering with over 9,000 members living all over the country.

Access to the hills is fundamental to our activities and to the tens of thousands of Irish people and visitors who quietly and sustainably use the upland and coastal areas of Ireland throughout the year.

Hillwalking has a direct economic benefit to rural Ireland as well as massively contributing to the physical and social health of the population.
