When the amateurs set an example for the pros
Is the writer aware of the passion that surrounds this amateur sport? The wet days, the sunny days, the flasks of tea, the ham sandwiches, the five year old to the 85-year-old, the blood, the sweat and the tears.
These are what pave the road to Croke Park for the Irish people who treasure their heritage and games.
It is a wonder and a pity that two of the most prominent professional sports bodies in Ireland with all their funding and prowess have not managed to build a stadium of Croke Park’s calibre? Not a bad feat for a bunch “culchies”.
How this man has even managed to get his name in print on foot of his derogatory and defamatory remarks — beggars belief.
