MARY REGAN wrote two articles on services for cystic fibrosis patients in Ireland, (Irish Examiner, January 19/20.

In the first article she focused on what she described as the poor hospital facilities available and she quoted the parent of a child with cystic fibrosis as saying there were “no dedicated cystic fibrosis units anywhere in the country”.

This is incorrect. We have a designated state-of-the-art unit for children at Limerick Regional Hospital.
