Not a bright idea

THE letter from Michael Job headlined ‘Why we need more pubs in rural areas’ (Irish Examiner, November 14) has to be among the silliest ever written.

Great idea, Mr Job. Why not build a pub on every street corner? Then the folks could walk or use a bicycle to get to it.

Of course he omits to mention that patrons would be staggering back home or cycling erratically and could easily wind up as road kill.
