Hospital location

THE recommendation by the HSE to site the proposed new children’s hospital in Dublin should be rejected.

While the HSE and senior civil servants in the Department of Health reside in the leafy suburbs of the capital, the selection of Dublin as the hospital location is certain, and so is the involvement of outside consultants to confirm their prejudices.

Government policy is to decentralise.
