Elderly in care only getting their own back

IT was with wry amusement that I read the advertisement announcing the Long Stay Charges Repayment Scheme for nursing home residents.

It states that the repayments will be made from funds provided by the State. Surely that must be the ultimate in semantics.

The money that will be repaid ultimately to the residents is that which was unjustly taken from them by the State and is legally their property.
