HSE bonuses - Health chiefs rewarded for wasting cash

UP TO €1.7 million has been paid in performance related bonus payments to senior managers since the Health Service Executive (HSE) was set up at the beginning of last year.

Those should be clearly seen to have been justified.

If there had been dramatic improvement in health care, or a saving of money being squandered, or if the executives in the health service were being underpaid, one might understand the extra bonuses, but instead the HSE has been squandering even more money than the health boards it replaced.
