Israeli propaganda machine going flat out

THE Irish Examiner seems to be under sustained Israeli bombardment.

Vigilant sympathisers in every corner of the globe react with unbelievable rapidity to each and every anti-Israeli letter or comment published in the paper.

The latest quick-fire repudiations and denials (August 15) winged their way from New York and Haifa.

The word ‘orchestration’ comes to mind.

Whatever about the postage stamp, these letters bear the unmistakable literary stamp of pro-Israeli lobby groups and Israeli embassies, composed of the usual hotch-potch of Israeli state propaganda: the Arabs started this conflict, not the Israelis by appropriating Palestine; anyone who opposes Israeli aggression is an anti-semite, not an upholder of human rights, etc, etc.

These same correspondents may one day be called upon to compose an equally spirited defence of Israeli nuclear bombs exploding over Arab cities.

For the sake of all, I sincerely hope it never comes to pass. But given the warped nature of the Israeli state, and the twisted ideology underpinning it, I think we all have reason to fear the worst.
