Condemning Israel alone makes neither moral nor political sense

SO an Irish anti-war group has called for a boycott of Israeli goods (Irish Examiner letters, August 10).

Condemning Israel alone makes neither moral nor political sense

On one side we have Hezbollah, which has so far fired 3,000 rockets into Israel, all aimed deliberately at civilians, most fired from thickly populated areas. Hezbollah has thousands of rockets still left. On the other side we have Israel’s accidental killing of civilians in the process of putting an end to this threat.

To condemn Hezbollah and see what Israel is doing as a deeply tragic necessity is what is most reasonable.
