Support your local library before it disappears

YOUR article on libraries (Irish Examiner, July 21), otherwise excellent, had no interview with any library user.

This hints of the self-contained nature of libraries.

Internationally, decreasing library usage leads to less funding, in ever-decreasing circles. Visit your local library before it disappears.

On a more optimistic note, one day I hope to visit the legendary El Dorado of public libraries, Boston Public.

It occupies a whole city block, and has its own metro-underground station.
