Archbishop’s stance must be supported

JUST when I was beginning to think that the Irish bishops were on snooze mode, a breath of fresh air in the person of the Archbishop of Dublin, Dr Diarmuid Martin, has spoken out with the conviction of faith on the Catholic Church’s call for absolute respect for human life.

Archbishop’s stance must be supported

The Archbishop has called for a broad public right to life debate — Dr Martin said he had every right to present his Church’s position with vigour, affirming the right to life from the moment of conception until the moment of natural death is appealing to an ideal, a vision which is not unscientific but an affirmation of every human individual’s uniqueness which is not ours to play around with.

I hope other bishops will support him.
