JUST when I was beginning to think that the Irish bishops were on snooze mode, a breath of fresh air in the person of the Archbishop of Dublin, Dr Diarmuid Martin, has spoken out with the conviction of faith on the Catholic Church’s call for absolute respect for human life.

I FIND it remarkable that whenever the likes of Dan Brown decide to write a book on religion that will cause controversy, it is (with one or two famous exceptions) almost certainly going to be about the Catholic Church.
