Cullen’s response to road deaths a disgrace
It is no good blaming individuals who have never been trained to do the task in the first place — and this is nearly all drivers.
Even those who have taken lessons will typically take only two or three to cram for a test universally regarded as mediocre at best.
In a workplace environment, failure to train an employee to operate lethally dangerous equipment would be considered criminally negligent.
The Government is responsible for ensuring citizens take road safety training. Even worse, their lamentable record here further promotes the irresponsible culture that there’s ‘nothing to it’.
For the cost of all those extra gardaí, we could all be trained to advanced standard free gratis.
