Army should aim for new heights

WHILE applauding Defence Minister Willie O’Dea’s efforts to ensure equality of the sexes in our armed forces, his new 5ft 2ins minimum height requirement still discriminates in favour of the men over the women.

Army should aim for new heights

If he’s really serious about gender equalisation, he should reduce the height requirement to no more than 4ft 2ins, thereby guaranteeing an equal percentage of both sexes and a fully gender-neutral Lilliputian fighting force for the future.
