US critics give solace to very wicked people

I WISH to support the opinions expressed by Bill Hurley (Irish Examiner letters, June 27) and Michael Higgins (June 28) with regard to our attitude to America.

People like Trevor Sargent and Edward Horgan only give solace to some of the world’s most wicked people who just laugh at their blunders and political gullibility.

I’m sure about one thing, and that is if this country was ever attacked I know to whom we would turn, and it certainly would not be Osama Bin Laden and Al- Qaida.
