RTÉ’s managing director of radio, Adrian Moynes, declared on Morning Ireland (June 6) that the proposed new arts programme presented by Dave Fanning on the revamped Radio 1 would be about “such things” as painting, sculpture and plays.

Mr Moynes also said the programme would have some of the characteristics of Fanning’s current show on 2FM.

I would like to know how Mr Moynes believes that Fanning, a fine broadcaster notwithstanding, can combine “such things” with his current programme’s content which, according to the show’s website, comprises “banter with Bono and guff from Geldof, unmissable movies and vids to avoid, soaps and scandals and digital gadgets and enough thoroughly decent music to keep you really cool even after a dodgy day...”
