Listener’s lament

WITH the cancellation of Rattlebag, the Creedon Show and the Mystery Train, the new head of Radio 1, Ana Leddy, will have made the lives of thousands of listeners just that tiny little bit less bearable.

In a triumph of mediocrity, conformity and banality, Ms Leddy has proven that if there is at all a time and a place for wit, imagination or taste, then public service broadcasting obviously isn’t it.
