Daycare centre staff gave us our lives back

AS we prepare to return to our American roots and relations, my husband Tom and I wish to express appreciation of a special place — the daycare centre in Castletownbere, Co Cork.

We have lived in Beara for 16 years. For the first 10 years we were happily active with various projects. But for the last six years, health issues increasingly limited our lives.

We are most grateful to the staff at St Joseph’s who are doing a fantastic job. My husband loved attending the centre, which has also been most helpful to me. The staff have been our lifeline for more than three years now. This tremendous service has given both of us our lives back.

Thanks also to the matron and staff of St Joseph’s Hospital, located on the same campus.

They took great care of my husband while I was in the US arranging for our return there. This included taking him daily to the daycare centre.
