No rest for truckers
How can any government make rules that cannot be followed? Drivers cannot stop to rest if there isn’t any lay-by available. This also applies to high vehicles such as campers. Every lay-by in the country is blocked off with rocks or height barriers.
With regard to truck stops, it would help a lot if transport companies, big and small, were held accountable for compelling drivers to work over the legally permitted hours.
Meanwhile, the Government should ensure that truck rest stops are available before they start laying down the law about the time limit for drivers.
