PAT BROSNAN (Irish Examiner, April 28) speculated that a British monarch may visit Ireland for the first time since 1911. Queen Elizabeth made her 13th official visit to Northern Ireland last year.

Northern Ireland is still part of Ireland. As Pravda states, “No British monarch has visited the territory of the modern-day Republic of Ireland since 1911, when Ireland was still part of the United Kingdom” (newsfromrussia.com).
