Letter to the Editor: Defence Forces deserving of much better
Our commander-in-chief, an tUachtarán Michael D Higgins, has spoken — as is his right in a democracy that the Irish Defence Forces guarantee.
I was aghast, but not surprised, to read the cowardly vitriol that spewed out of the corners of the mouths of un-named senior ministers in the Fine Gael party while they were lapping up the good food and drink along the splendid beaches of East Cork’s Garryvoe.
