Still laughing - Enda Kenny and ‘The Simpsons’

WHAT do Homer Simpson and Enda Kenny have in common, apart, that is, from celebrating anniversaries? The Simpsons is 30 years in the making and Mr Kenny is today the longest surviving Fine Gael Taoiseach.

Yes, they are both, in a way, cartoon characters. Both can be sporty, with Mr Kenny donning runners and sporting the odd bit of lycra while cycling the Ring of Kerry.

Like Homer, the Taoiseach is also given to odd — and sometimes strange — musings and rhetorical flourishes.
